Abstract

Digital logic forms the foundational basis of computer science and electronics engineering education. However, students frequently encounter difficulties in transitioning from abstract Boolean representations to practical circuit implementation. This paper proposes a structured pedagogical framework integrating virtual laboratory simulation tools to enhance conceptual understanding of digital logic fundamentals among undergraduate engineering students. The proposed framework combines theoretical instruction, interactive circuit visualization, simulation-based experimentation, and guided problem-solving activities to bridge the gap between conceptual knowledge and practical application. The framework emphasizes learner-centered approaches through real-time feedback, visualization of logical operations, and progressive skill development. A conceptual evaluation strategy based on pre-test/post-test assessment, student engagement analysis, and feedback-based evaluation is proposed to measure learning effectiveness. The framework provides an adaptable instructional model for improving digital logic education by enabling students to develop stronger analytical abilities, circuit design skills, and confidence in applying fundamental concepts.
